This month we highlight International Walk to School Day along with promotion of active transportation and physical activity during work or in the classroom. Also featured is a 30-Day Protein Challenge for Beef Month! Lead Organizations: Safe Routes to School of Central Alabama and the Alabama Cattleman’s Association with Alabama FCCLA.
Get Moving to Make a Difference
Think about how you being active can impact others. Can you get moving for a charity or a cause? Lead Organization, Alabama FCCLA, is asking everyone to sponsor a Get Moving Alabama Walk for JDRF. When people walk, communities become more vibrant. Take a walk with family and friends in walk-friendly downtown areas to support local businesses and restaurants. Tap into community events such as farmer’s markets and festivals that promote walking to support local business districts. Also, look out for Mayor’s Challenges this month!
